Haunted Past: Realm of Ghosts Collector's Edition is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 100.

Rated 5 out of 5 by zia1954 from The Best Haunted game since Ravenhearst I really fell in love with this creepy wonderful dark game. The eerie sound effects were fantastic. The backgrounds well done. The going into the past and then back to the shabby present through portals was unique. The plot was a little skimpy, but the rest of the game made up for it . I am glad I bought the collectors edition, I have one of the wallpaper on my computer. I hope this is the beginning of a Haunted past series, I am waiting for it already. I highly recommend this game

Rated 5 out of 5 by campingramps from 2 great games in 1 week, wow! This is another great game that has come to Big Fish and I'm beginning to up my opinion of them. Although this is what I call a dark game, meaning grays, blacks and generally dark colors, it works for this one. This is not a bright color game. The story is believable and a pleasure to see where it leads. The HO's range from a blend of difficult with hard to see objects, to fairly easy but either way they are challenging. Usually I turn the music off or at least down but I kept it up in this game just because it intrigued me and added to the atmosphere but that's my preference. This game developer usually comes up with some good games and they have done it again. This is a buy but I may try the SE first just to see if it is any different. I recommend this one to all HO lovers out there. Have fun!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ridinghood12 from Great graphics and gameplay I enjoyed this game very much. I think it open a door of new entertainment by allowing you to change from ghost mode t to human sight as a detective by using your gifts.. This was nice change to finding clues which distracted from the predictable story line. I enjoyed pretty much everything about it and it was right at my skill level of intermediate however i plan to play it again at a more challenging level to enjoy it even more. Nice game overall. Not too spooky to play late at night lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by smoovasbutter from Excellent Haunted House Game You explore a creepy house and go between the real world and the ghost world, which is a pretty cool concept. The soundtrack is great and the house looks very creepy and gothic. The game is a bit on the short side and the extras are somewhat sparse on the CE. Graphics are decent for a 4 year old game. Overall a good gothic horror themed hidden object game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IPickYellow from Well This Has Been Entertaining! I do have a tendency to only post, when I'm really disappointed with a game. So, I decided awhile ago to post for good games as well.Unfortunately, there are fewer of those, or I have a different sense of enjoyment than others.I'm not sure how long this game has been out. I usually buy on sales and then only pick games that have a ton of great reviews. This game hit all the checks on my list for a great game.#1 - LONG#2 - NICE graphics with clear and not overly bright or super saturated with color.#3 - INTERESTING HOGs#4 - DIFFICULT without being impossible#5 - GREAT and UNUSUAL puzzles - Now here it didn't really hit the mark, as there were few actual puzzles. But the whole story line and game was one nice puzzle, so I'm letting this slide.#6 - GOOD storyline that made sense and had a beginning and conclusion.I bought the CE, but have only finished the main game so far, and I feel it alone can stand up to many CEs I've played recently. I'm so happy, I still have the bonus game to play!

Rated 5 out of 5 by wintersnow888 from Unique Ghostly Fun!!!!! I don't usually write reviews but this was so great in every way that I felt compelled to write...First of all--This game has the perfact balance of HOS's and puzzles and gameplay....the HOS's were not too crowded and junky ,and the graphics were nice and clear.Second-the storyline was very creative ---I love ghost stories so this aspect really piqued my interest . . .and I love the way you can jump back and forth between the real world and ghost world----and the way that you interact with the objects you need to bring over from the ghost world was very original.. and great fun !!!!!The music/soundtrack was brilliant ...non-obtrusive and fitting for whatever scene you find yourslf in...and it doesn't get on your nerves ---like many soundtracks in games that feel as if the devs just did the music as an afterthought----The difficulty level was just right -- not tear-your-hair-out frustrating and not childishly simple either...perfect for a snowy afternoon of relaxing fun.......The strategy guide is good --you can take as much or as little information as you wish...the CE doesn't contain any collectibles or extras in the game unfotunately...but that is the only negative I found in this otherwise terrrific game !!!

The storyline was interesting and I loved the fact that it was different from your usual games. Also enjoyed the necessary items and precautions one must take when a haunting takes place.Enjoy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jem_Jerrica_Guy from This is the reason why single people get lonely in such big houses! Intro movie tells what you're getting into. Each scene in an area of a mansion.Explore areas outside the mansion. If it's all decrepit, spookiness lurks around every corner. The ghost realms are sunshiney bright, but with that slow spooky new age music. One of the best gaming experiences I've had.I hope the sequel is produced.

Rated 5 out of 5 by methosfl from LOVED IT!!! Bought the CE because the game sounded really good and I wanted "the full experience". It was a blast!!! The scenery and graphics were great. I love old houses and with this you would start out seeing it in disrepair then move into the "ghost world" and see it in its glory days. It reached the point where my stomach would clench in anticipation of the switch over because they really did do a beautiful job on the scenes. The HO games were good; not too easy but not where I had to use the hint button all the time. The other mini games were pretty good, some too easy but others really made me think. I loved the fact that they told you when a room was finished, saving me from to-ing and fro-ing, searching rooms for no reason. They did tell you what the next task was, but what they didn't tell you was that there were a dozen steps to get there. Those you had to figure out yourself. No penalty for over clicking and the hint button recharged fast. The hints themselves would show you where to look, but then you had to do the rest. The story line was good, interesting. It didn't introduce so many characters or give you so much detail that you couldn't keep it all straight. A couple of characters that told you what you needed to know without blathering endlessly at you. I played in advanced mode and took my time and it took about 6 hours. The bonus chapter was nice and long too, introducing what I hope is the next chapter in this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tookat from journey through the eyes of the present, through the past This was a very unique game. One I took my time with and savored. Good graphics and seeing each scene change from ruin to glory was wonderful, though I did not always enjoy the glare used in some of the hogs, and I disliked the blurring shift from past to present and back. Still most of the game was worth putting up with that. The story itself leads you through each game step deftly, pulling you along to find each new room, each new answer. No brother or lost person in jeopardy, but an air of mystery about what happened here, and can we set anything to right everI saw a review that thought this game was too short for a CE. I humbly disagree....no good game is ever long enough though...just as no good book is. I look forward very much to the sequel and hope that wait won't be long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pcpat923 from PAST AND PRESENT HIDDEN OBJECT GAMING FUN! A 2012 game I just completed that was enjoyable then and again into 2016. Should have purchased the CE and, unfortunately no other Haunted Past sequels followed. Passing between the ghostly and living realms, you have a task at hand that requires use of your special gift. To help resolve this very difficult situation, it is necessary to hide needed items in the ghostly realm and recapture them in the living realm. The truly awesome part of all this is the artwork presented of both realms. Game was shorter than present day, however, the storyline was interesting and often times longer games tend to drag on unless they're exceptional which is rare. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Rated 5 out of 5 by SparkleGlow100 from Spooky, crumbling mansion... (Note: older game, first review on BFG in 2012). Really great details in surrounding rooms of the mansion. You get to see both sides of the mansion, the current peeling, disheveled one and the former glorious, spangly one. Wonderful, realistic looking graphics. Lots of HOPs but not all items always clear. You should know there are very few puzzles, it doesn’t fill entire screen and there’s no map. However, this is a game I thoroughly enjoyed because of the atmosphere and details.

Rated 5 out of 5 by j62janet from Loved it In the game, you have to find objects, and you end up going from room to room, including the servants room, and the gentry, (owner), sometimes at the end of a HOS, you are given objects, which you may have to hide, you use this to complete an area, I loved the game, I loved how it went from the past, to the present, the picture kind of goes double, and the room changes its look completely, one ghost, doesn't want you to succeed, and causes you problems

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdrianaIP from Good game with original twists This is a good game, with gorgeous atmospheric background - as do the HOS. Has two twists, one involving moving through mirrors to the shadow realm, where not only you need to find items, but also put them in a place where you can retrieve them later in the real world, and the pictures, where you are supposed to include a missing element, so that they can relase something you need. The pictures, reproduction of beautiful masterpieces add to the atmosphere and the pleasure. It is always good to look at a Vermeer... The storyline flows easily (the "area clear" messages and the VO help a lot). A fun game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by uncommonfirings from A Really Great Game This was a really interesting and enjoyable game. I loved the well-thought user interface. It was helpful without being in the way; it even told me when I had cleared an area of puzzles. I liked that a lot because I didn't have to waste time searching an area to see if I needed to do anything else. The graphics were lovely, and the music was nice (after you got through the initial screens when the constant lightning and thunder noises were a bit distracting). I will enjoy playing this one again and plan to look for more games by this developer. (GOGII)

Rated 5 out of 5 by SMcKinney13 from A Creepy Trip into the Ghost Realm This is a fascinating game. You receive a letter from your dead father's lawyer about the house you inherit. You arrive and must solve not only the question of your father's guilt or innocence but what happened to your mother. Free the ghosts that are trapped by an evil spirit by traveling through mirrors to the ghost realm. I really enjoyed this game. The interaction, the puzzles were all very appropriate for the scenes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by catbag8717 from Another Winner!! I really, really enjoyed this game. Good Parts:The theme is used brilliantly. Being able to teleport from past to present, and the whole thing involved with that is just greatAbsolutely loved the storyline and great voice-overs were includedPretty good graphicsThe game was actually fun to playHint and "Solve" buttons recharged quickly and were very helpfulLoved the Hidden Object Scenes. The objects were a mix of easy to find and challenging. OK Parts:The puzzles. Yes, I know, you're probably sick of me saying this but some of them were excellent, but others were just poor. Bad Parts:At times I had no idea what to do next, so I was waiting for the hint to recharge. The characters should've been more realistic. I was very aware of the fact I was playing a game #if you know what I mean# I haven't given a game a perfect rating for a while #I go by number of games, not dates as I review games very frequently# but this game is very deserving of a 5 star rating. Most definitely recommended.

Seek and find and non-interactive HOS. Sepia colors are easy on the eyes. Area cleared notice. Not quite 4 hours, but very enjoyable.

Haunted Past: Realm of Ghosts - Big Fish Games

Growing up in the 80’s , I was always fascinated by driving. Especially since my Dad sported the racing gloves and drove a stick shift Corola throughout the decade.  Therefore,  naturally, I wanted to be just like him.  I knew that wasn’t going to happen until I became an adult, which was a bummer. However, I was part of the 80’s generation, where one was now able to drive a racing car via a video game. How cool was that The following is a list of my favorite racing old school games of the 80’s!  Even Next-generation gamers will appreciate this list.

10.Ivan “Ironman” Stewart’s Super Off Road –  1989

I can remember the days, late 80’s Bigmouth Pizza on Bergenline Ave in North Bergen, NJ! They featured Ironman’s Stewart’s Super Offroad! This was a souped up version of Championship Sprint. It featured off road madness, water pits, mud pits, nitros and more!

This racing game was loads of fun and included up to 4 players of fun for everyone! For all of our Latino readers, how funny is the name of the track above Guess you need grandes to get through this obstacle! LOL

A next-gen version of this game is available on WiiWare called Drifter..

Looks pretty good!

9. Super Sprint – Atari- 1986

Ahhhh, Super Sprint, how many quarters did I deposit into this bad boy Super Sprint is a 1986 arcade game by Atari Games. The player drives a Formula One-like car on a circuit that is viewed from above.  From picking up wrenches, avoiding oil slicks, even using your evasive maneuvers on tornadoes, this game was a winner!

As in the aforementioned, Super Off Road, this game requires you to master the art of the everlasting steering wheel. This would allow one to perform hairpin turns at high speeds. Also, one would need to use the track efficiently by utilizing shortcuts and grabbing all of the power ups one can!

8. Chase HQ – Taito -1988

CHASE HQ! One of my all time faves! It wasn’t just about racing anymore! Now we could crash into Yellow Lamborghini’s and turn them into a fiery mess! You play a detective in this one, tracking down a fugitive with a ridiculously expensive car. The play controls are superb in this game, from driving off road, to racing over cacti in the sand. You have 3 Nitro’s, one has to ensure that they are used effectively to either make the checkpoint or catch up with your enemy Porsche! All in all a spectacular game that mixes, racing with crime fighting and expensive luxury cars.

7. Pitstop II – Epyx 1984

Ok, now is the time that my list separates the real old schoolers to the wanna be ones! This game was way ahead of its time. As you can see from the image below, you could play, head on with a challenger via a split screen view. Pitstop II is the  first 3D racing game to implement a split-screen simultaneous two-player game mode.

The paradigm shifter was the fact the actual pitstop mode! You had to watch your fuel and tires. When both needed work, you would pull over to a designated pitstop and then control your pitstop crew. Since you couldn’t control two crew people at the same time, you had to use them wisely. One would fill your gas and leave him there, while you switch your attention to the tire guys. But keep a watchful eye, if you overfill the gas tank you would have to start filling from empty!

Those of you who missed it or were just a twinkle in your dad’s eye at the time don’t fret,  you can catch this one the Wii Virtual Console  at a cost of 500 Wii Points.

6.
Pole Position – Namco – 1982

Who can ever forget the famous scratchy woman’s voice stating, PREPARE TO QUALIFY! This game was really the first racing simulation super smash hit in the arcades! With its fancy cabinet, rear view racer format (which became the standard for many racing games) and very cool steering wheel, Pole Position became the most popular game of 1983!

Who can also forget the strategic product placement ads that the game featured. And you thought that American Idol over did it with the oversized coca-cola cup in front of the judges! This game had more ads then Harry and Kumar’s Trip to White Castles!

5. RCA Pro – Am – Rare -1988

We all love Mario Kart these days, but before Mario Kart, in the 80’s lived a little game called R C Pro am. It was a very popular game in its time selling over 2. 3 million copies in its day. It had all of the elements that made Mario Kart a hit, usage of weapons , obstacles and speed boost regions etc.

Collecting various weapons or tools helped increase your cars traction, engine or your turbo acceleration.

The real  fun factor of the game was that the player was not in the driver seat but actually on the sidelines controlling the car via remote control.  (Just like Doc controlled the Delorian in Back to the Future while Einstein was in the car!)

Overall, a very fun game that our family logged many many hours on!

4. RoadBlasters – Atari – 1987

The game, in a nutshell, is Spy Hunter crossed with Pole Position, thrown into the 21st century. It featured 50 tracks, a fuel gauge, great graphics and excellent play control.Main objectives were to keep a watchful eye of their remaining fuel, dodge enemies, manage the track and by the way shoot down others cars with a large cannon. Special weapons can be obtained through an overhead helicopter which drops it down to your vehicle. Be sure to line yourself up perfectly, or no weapon for you.

Refueling was a fun factor as well, you can refuel your main tank by picking up green globes that were all over the track. Red globes can also be obtained after destroying a vehicle and checkpoints garnered you some fuel as well.

All in all a great game which was ahead of its time in 1987!

3. Spy Hunter is a 1983

This has to be one of the best arcade racing games ever! The arcade game featured either a stand up or sit down cabinet. It boasted amazing music and sound quality, pinpoint controls and futuristic special purpose buttons.  Some of the most interesting features of the game where the wide array of weapons that one can use which could be obtained through the weapons van, the low gear or high gear option (driving in high gear all the time made the game very challenging) and the various types of traffic that you encounter.

The game has attracted worldwide fame because of its fun gameplay, futuristic arcade look and feel and of course who can forget the addicting musical arrangement. The game has spawned make sequels, ports and even an Easter Egg in Microsoft Excel 2000!

The ROCK, was contracted to play the lead role of s Spy Hunter Movie back in 2004. It has been delayed numerous times, however I am sure gaming fans would love to see a Spy Hunter the movie!

2. Enduro -Activision -1983

Enduro! YES!  This game has to be considered a miracle in software programming  with the anemic hardware constraints that the Atari 2600 had to utilize. Enduro, was based on long distance endurance driving.

On the first day, the player hits the road at sunrise and is given the task of passing 200 cars before the day is done. If the player manages that, he is to pass 300 cars, and the difficulty ramps up on each subsequent day.The simulation concept would also allow for various types of road conditions to arise.

You can drive in sunlight, snowy roads, night time, and the dreaded foggy condition.  To be successful the player to has to demonstrate  cat like reflexes to avoid cars that you have to pass to advance.   Icy conditions and very thick fog make this task very difficult, only an expert can navigate the upper levels successfully and then earn the crown of Roadblaster!

All in all, the best racing game on the 2600, arguably amongst the top 2 2600 games of all time, (the other is Pitfall which was also designed by Activision as well) and in my book, the 2nd best racing game that the 80’s produced!

1. Outrun – Sega -1986

Ok we have finally reached the number one racing game of the 80’s The choice is quite simple, Outrun was by far the best racing game the 80’s produced.

It revolutionized the gaming industry in so many ways. New scaling techniques in software engineering, gave the driver the impression of traveling at very high speeds. Players had a maximum of 16 options to complete the game, with forks in the road which included different routes along the way. A player had the option of choosing music, from soft soothing passing breeze to Crazy Taxiesque Offspring-like tracks. The racing experience featured lots of roadside detail and a camera angle that really captured the essence of racing. The player could also choose manual or automatic transmission if they wanted a real challenge!

Check out XBLA’s Outrun Online Arcade, I must have logged 40 hours last month playing that game, A Winner!

How can one not picture themselves, in a Ferrari Testarosa, with a hot blond beginning a drive in a beautiful coastal area Need I say more!

Perezstart.com Honorable Mention – Rally X – Namco – 1980

I had a chance to play this game this past week and I was amazed by how much fun it was to play. Of course, while I was playing it, I kept saying to myself, this was released in 1980 Wow, it really stands the test of time. Fun to play, challenging and pioneered many concepts which other games utilized.  Here’s to Rally X, our Perezstart Superman
